Privacy policy
This policy describes the QuickBooks integration operated by Miko Inc. for its internal bookkeeping, invoicing, payment tracking and financial reporting. It covers the Integration, not every service offered on this website. Public access to this page does not grant access to Miko’s accounting data.
Information processed
Depending on the authorized task, the Integration may access company details, customer and vendor names and contact information, accounts, invoice line items, quantities and prices, bills, expenses, payments, transaction histories, financial reports, and supporting records or attachments. Instructions, retrieved records and generated summaries may also appear in AI conversations and local work files.
The local connector uses an Intuit application’s credentials and authorization tokens to access the connected company. These credentials are separate from a user’s QuickBooks password. Credentials and tokens must not be placed in public website files or AI prompts.
Purpose and access
Miko uses this information to operate its accounts, prepare and review invoices, identify outstanding balances, investigate discrepancies and support financial reporting. Access is for authorized personnel and advisers acting for Miko. The Integration is intended to access only the company and records needed for the authorized work.
Local processing and AI services
The MCP connector runs on a Miko-authorized computer and communicates with Intuit. Running the connector locally does not mean all data stays on that computer: records supplied to the AI assistant are processed by OpenAI, and may be retained in conversation history or other service records according to the account’s settings and applicable provider terms. This policy does not promise a particular provider retention period or model-training setting.
Local exports, working documents and other copies may also be created during authorized work. Information may be processed outside the country where Miko or the individuals concerned are located, depending on the providers used.
Disclosure
Information is shared with Intuit and the AI service provider as needed to perform authorized tasks, and with authorized Miko personnel or professional advisers as needed for business records and review. If invoice delivery or reminders are enabled, the relevant invoice and contact details are shared with the intended recipient and the delivery provider. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to address security incidents. Miko does not use this Integration to sell accounting data or to provide accounting data to advertising platforms.
Storage, retention and security
Accounting records remain in QuickBooks unless an authorized action changes them. Local working copies and AI conversation records have separate retention and deletion controls. Miko retains information as needed for the business purpose, recordkeeping obligations and dispute resolution; retention varies by record type and service. Revoking a connection does not automatically delete existing records, conversations, exports or backups.
Access restrictions and credential protection are required for the local installation. Third-party services apply their own safeguards. No system can guarantee absolute security. Suspected unauthorized access should be reported promptly using the contact below.
Disconnecting and privacy requests
A QuickBooks administrator can revoke the Integration’s authorization in QuickBooks to stop future API access. Contact Miko to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information processed through the Integration, or to ask about retained copies. Miko may need to verify your identity and authority. Some records may need to be retained for accounting, legal or dispute-related purposes. Requests concerning provider-held copies may also require use of that provider’s account controls or request process.
Visitors to these policy pages
This public website is hosted through OpenAI Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure; hosting providers may process normal connection and request information to deliver and secure the pages. The website’s existing cookie controls offer optional Meta advertising measurement. If accepted, Meta receives page-view and inquiry-completion events and associated browser and device information. These website events do not contain QuickBooks records. You can change your choice using “Cookie preferences.” See Meta’s privacy policy for its processing practices.
